Teratai PAUD Students Educated to Plant Vegetables

As many as 25 students of Teratai PAUD, RW 08, Grogol Selatan Urban Village, Kebayoran Lama Sub-district, South Jakarta were invited to plant and harvest vegetables, as well as make salted eggs at Keyla 5 Garden, Jalan Kramat.

Grogol Selatan Urban Village Secretary, Teuku Aji Mahbury, said this activity aimed to provide education and knowledge from an early age about how to maintain food security, especially by planting on existing land.

"The activity introduced children to plant cultivation in makeshift land or home garden. The also learn to recognize the types of vegetables that are good for them to consume every day," he said, Monday (10/21).

Aji explained that the lesson on making salted eggs also aimed to increase knowledge about the process of making eggs that previously had a normal taste into salty ones.

"We appeal the students to consume more vegetables and foods that contain high protein for optimum health and intelligence," he explained.

Meanwhile, Teratai PAUD Mentor, Nurhayati, thanked the cooperation with Grogol Selatan Urban Village for inviting her 25 students in planting and harvesting vegetables.

"Next we will take our students to visit other education tourism sites in Kebayoran Lama Sub-district," she admitted.
